Further Information for using the Stormrider Surf Travel Planner

The Browse facility of the Stormrider Surf Travel Planner (STP) displays excerpts of information from all the Stormrider Guide books.

The Search facility will further customise the list of regions displayed. The more questioned answered the narrower the list of results.

Which Month? – The results will only display regions that have a green colour coding from the surf statistics tables featured in the Stormrider Guide books and the Surf Travel Planner “When to Go” section of each region. Green months offer the best mix of swell, wind and weather, however amber months can also be good, so check the statistics.

Consistency Statistics – Swell consistency only looks at how many days per month there is usually swell and does not factor in swell size so some of the zones may be "consistent", but only getting 1ft of swell. So consult the average swell size statistics to choose the wave height most suitable for your ability. Remember, everyone's opinion of the dream wave is not the same.
